"Went on a Wednesday morning and the restaurant was packed but we were able to sit right away. They have tons of options for breakfast into dinner. The server was friendly and the food came out fast and hot."
"You Can Never Go Wrong At Mel’s Not sure where to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack, some dessert – go to Mel’s. We were out running errands on a late morning and went to an old favorite. My wife is an omelet fan and ordered a Western Style Omelet, rye toast and substituted fresh fruit instead of potatoes ($11.99). Not sure if these are two or three egg omelets, but they are big, loaded with green peppers, onion, ham and American cheese, and tastes great. The cup had a nice mix of cold crisp fruit and if you are a rye toast fan, it’s spot on. I ordered off the Lunch Specials Menu – the Ranch Hand Chicken Salad ($11.59). A bed of crisp lettuce with a little spinach, topped with chopped tomatoes, eggs, bacon, cucumbers and blue cheese crumbles along with sliced fried chicken breast. Ranch dressing is on the side. This was very much like a Cobb salad and I really enjoyed it. Two diners could easily share this dish. The servers are all very friendly and Mel’s never disappoints."
"I had the Liver & Onions , rice & gravy . My wife had the open face turkey sandwich. I was really good, actually had real turkey breast like thanksgiving and the mashed potatoes tastes real and good gravy. Like I said , I had the liver & onions … he cooked it perfectly …. I couldn’t even eat it all .. as you can see the portion size ,& get this …. That’s 2 pieces !!!!"
"Mel’s Diner Cape Corral 3-4-25 Stopped by Mel’s on Monday around 12:30pm. This place was clean, neat, and busy. We got seated right away and Dee Dee was our waitress. I ordered the Western Black Angus Chopped Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Corn. My wife and our friend ordered the Mel’s Classic Cheeseburger with Cheese, Lettice, Tomato, Onions, Coleslaw, and Fries. Once our order came out my Chopped Steak was amazing. The Chopped Steak had Onions piled high on the top and lots of Gravy, it was so good. My wife and our friends Burger were done perfectly, and the Fries were just yummy even the Coleslaw was good. All our food was hot and plenty of it as we had to get a to go box to take some home. Once done we ordered two Milkshakes, one Chocolate and one Strawberry. They were very good if you like old fashion Milkshakes get yourself one for sure. I must give this Mel’s 5 out of 5 stars for the great service from Dee Dee, the good food and great Milkshakes. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Me On FB For More Reviews Gulf Coast Terry"
"Good southern comfort hospitality. All the staff from the greeting to passing by waitresses everyone is very nice. Clearly a good local spot, everyone knew each other but welcomed newcomers, lots of food items to choose from. From salad selections to seafood, steak, and breakfast menu. The mozzarella sticks and fried pickles were pretty decent, I mean, just look at that pull there. They have a few 'Mels Diner' choices. Grace was an amazing waitress. Needed some local advice, the hostess was more than willing to give some tips. Came back to eat here 3 times within a week. Try the seasonal drink menu for only $ 5.99/6.99, delicious!"
"A cozy restaurant, with a large menu. I had the double lobster, it was a great deal and delicious. My daughter loved the salmon! Big shout out to our waitress Tasha, who was just so very sweet, and gave excellent service"
"Wow, excellent food and service. Destinee was our server and she was very attentive. Food was hot and delicious and very reasonable priced for the quality. Manager Shane stopped by the table to check on us. He and Destinee were so friendly. We were super impressed with our dinner experience tonight."
"Keirin waited on us and the service was incredible. I ordered the all you can eat fish fry and it was done perfectly. My wife ordered a sandwich and she said it was delicious. Ask for Keirin when you go to Mel's. You wont regret it"
